These are a few of my favorite things:

hot chocolate. playing board games with my kids. feeling comfortable with friends. waking up to a kiss. letting it all out. remembering what made people like my granddad so neat. not working at a bank. cooking over a campfire. surviving. autumn colors. tavern meals with friends. getting out of debt. my canon xTi. spinach. being quiet. cheesey b-movies. shel silverstein. spreading my wings. taking pictures so beautiful they don't need photoshop. reading. shredding the past. welcoming the future.

I am a mother of two. I have a day to day battle with depression and bipolar disorder with myself and my kids. I see the world through lenses that belong to me and no one else. I am currently attending college, working toward a dual Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Health Care Administration.

My father was a shutterbug, and I grew up fascinated with his old Nikon 35mm. My mother is a decorating fiend who can come up with the greatest ideas, no thought needed. I just take what I see and put it on paper. And sometimes I take what I feel and put it on canvas. But I cannot imagine a life without being able to express myself via art.

My goals are not unlike those of most other people. I have always believed (and been told by more than one wise man) that the key to a happy, successful life is to find a job that you'd do for free. This is my love. Thank you for stopping by to check it out.

Paint the Town Red

For my friends in the Birmingham area: I have a couple of photographs that are going to be exhibited in the Paint the Town Red show benefiting the Red Cross. It's next Saturday. :D It's a long drive, and we'll be unpacking, so I doubt I'll get to go, but I'm just excited to know my stuff's gonna be up there!!! Yay!

I can write me a pretty mean comment! :D
I suppose I could start tryin' to do lit right...

But as a friend of mine (~Evolution1990) once said, I am the most evil and lazy creature ever to see daylight and hate it. The evil part is disputable, considering the existence of Mr Ralf, however, my supreme laziness status remains unchanged.
(My keyboard and grammar skills rapidly decrease after 1 a.m. For some reason, my browser's spelling check sucks and I don't trust myself to type my name correctly right now. I need slumber. Hence, apologies for any and all foregoing mistakes, and for those yet to follow.)
